Queen Victoria arrived back in Southampton at the end of her World Cruise on Friday 5 May 2017 and that same day set off for Palermo, Sicily and the Fincantieri shipyard.
It is 10 years since the Maiden Voyage of QV and although on our last voyage on QV in November and December 2016 she was not looking tired, the decision had been made to carry out some major changes and a general refurbishment. This is a view of QV’s stern as it was originally.
The changes to the stern are dramatic and I will post photos as soon as I can. The ship will be back in Southampton in time for a 4 day taster voyage leaving on 4 June and returning on 8 June – Election Day in the UK.
Jane and I board that day for a 14 day voyage to the Canaries. Kim, Jane’s carer/companion, who joined us so successfully on the trip to the Caribbean last November/ December, will be with us again and Linda will be housesitting as usual.
